Sebec Lake Willimantic
Sebec Lake has the Big Wilson Stream in Willimantic flowing in it by Earleys Landing. The name Sebec is derived from the Indian name Sebecco, by which Sebec Lake was originally called.
The town of Sebec is at he end of the Sebec Lake. It is one of the six townships granted to Bowdoin College by Massachusetts in 1794. Sebec was settled in 1803 by Ezekiel Chase.
Fishing in Sebec Lake is excellent for Togue (Lake Trout ), Landlocked Salmon, Smallmouth Bass and some Brook Trout. Sebec Lake is 6803 acres and a max depth of 155 feet it also has Smelts, White Perch, Cusk,Pickerel, stocked with (Lake Trout ) and is open to ice fishing.
